"Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Here is a little song to have some fun with. The verse is Philippians 4:13 in the NKJV. Always learn a verse word for word before working with it. Once you have this song memorized, or "hidden in your heart," then try this game.

You can insert names of members of your family, or of friends, into the verse, like so: "Philippians 4:13 [Name] can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Caution: This is fun to play with young children; they can even insert the names of their dolls and stuffed animals! Just make sure they know the Scripture very well before playing.

We had great success using this game in a homeschool setting, similar to a Sunday school class. It works with any number of children. Have the kids sit in a circle. Simply use a stuffed animal, or any small toy, to pass around the group. As the first child holds Mr. Lion, for example, sing the song with her name in it:

"Philippians 4:13 Suzie can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Then pass to the next child (or they can give it to anyone they'd like) and sing:

"Philippians 4:13 Johnnie can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Continue playing until everyone has had at least one chance to have the group sing their name in the verse.

After several classes playing this game, the children may get a little tired of it. We added some spice to the session by putting Mr. Lion on a green chair and singing "...Mr. Green Chair can do all things..." The next child would look for something else in the classroom to put the animal on. The little ones cracked up and really enjoyed it. [I wouldn't start this way, however... :)]

Be creative, but never let the children forget the exact wording of the verse. Enjoy!!
