Not Mine

Of course, no MBS songs are mine: they all belong to God. Those on this page were composed by other people, but may have been adapted to include references. May they bless you as they have me. See also the KidsTeam and other pages.

[All songs are in the NKJV unless otherwise noted, and in Scripture order, except for the first one which is all the books of the Bible, so you can learn that order!]

BOOKS OF THE BIBLE song - SLOW

Follow along in the Table of Contents of your Bible. The melody of this song was written by NewSpring Worship, and the original is on YouTube as "The Books of the Bible | Elementary Worship Song". My version here leaves out the unnecessary interludes. You can do this!

(For this song faster, see the KidsTeam page)

Num6.24-26Rutter.mp3

[Numbers 6:24-26 NKJV - Melody by Peter C. Lutkin. There is a YouTube video of his version sung by the Westminster Choir College, but he changed the order of the verses. Here I have sung it as written in the Word of God. Thank you, Christine M., for suggesting I post this beautiful melody!]

"The Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.” ’

Numbers 6:24-26

[The word for peace, "shalowm," includes much more than peace. Check it out in Strong's Concordance at biblestudytools.com.]

Ps119.105.mp3

[Psalm 119:105 KJV]

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 119 verse 105

[This song was written by Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. You can find her recording on YouTube as "Amy Grant - Thy Word (Lyric Video)".]

[Song of Songs 2:14-15 NIV by my sister Lisa]

My dove in the clefts of the rock,

    in the hiding places on the mountainside,

show me your face,

    let me hear your voice;

for your voice is sweet,

    and your face is lovely.

Catch for us the foxes,

    the little foxes

that ruin the vineyards,

    our vineyards that are in bloom.

Song of Songs 2:14-15

Isaiah9.6.mp3

[Isaiah 9:6 KJV]

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

[This song was written by George Frideric Handel as a part of his Messiah. You can find a beautiful recording by the London Symphony Orchestra on YouTube as "Handel: Messiah, For unto us a child is born (Sir Colin Davis, Tenebrae, LSO)".

Isaiah 55:6-9 NKJV

The words are on the video. This Scripture song is by Esther Mui, as are many beautiful songs. You may find them a little more difficult to memorize, as she often repeats verses and/or melodies. You may want to add the words "Isaiah 55" at the end or beginning, to remind yourself of the reference. I find Esther's songs very beautiful, and perfect for listening to the very best material you can put into your mind: God's Word. And you may just find yourself memorizing the words just fine. You can find many more of her songs on YouTube by searching for Esther Mui Scripture Songs. Enjoy!

Zech9.9Rejoice.mp3

[Zechariah 9:9a KJV with many repeats]

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee...

Zechariah 9:9

[This song is condensed from Handel's Messiah. For the full version (faster tempo), see the YouTube video entitled "Renee Fleming sings "Rejoice greatly" Messiah by Handel"]

John3.16.mp3

[John 3:16 KJV]

For God so loved the world, [John 3:16] that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

[some repeats]

[This song was written by John Stainer. You can find a recording by the TeDeum Chamber Choir on YouTube as "God So Loved the World - John Stainer".]

Jude24-25.mp3

Jude 24 and 25 [KJV]

Now unto him that is able to keep [able to keep] you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and [for-]ever. Amen.
